A little about me.

9 Years in CS

A decade at EE managing millions of customer issues. From CS to Technical support and Frontline to Operational Support. Building systems and fixing processes that affect thousands of advisors and customers.

CFO Tech Startup

In 2022, we moved from a free service to paid subscriptions. The original four members set up the subscription model, and I shifted from core developer to CFO. I now lead finance and operations while still coding when needed.

RitaBot Project

Rita (Realtime Interchangeable Translating Assistant) started as an open source project for players in different languages to communicate in Discord. It began with a few people from one mobile game community, grew to 20,000 servers, then moved to a SAAS service with 1000+ paying users.

2011 to 2015 | Research Fellow

While at university, I supported the Centre for Security, Communications & Network Research across multiple functions.

  • Supported the Centre for Security, Communications & Network Research in a range of research support functions.
  • Contributed to practical research activity while completing university studies.
  • Work in this period led to being published on a research paper.

2011 to 2016 | Plymouth University

Joined Plymouth University and studied Computer Information Security and Digital Forensics.

  • Built technical foundations across security, digital investigation, and systems thinking.
  • Applied this learning in parallel through research and operational roles.

2011 to 2020 | Appropriate Adult

Alongside other roles, I worked as an Appropriate Adult with local police and council services.

  • Worked with Devon and Cornwall Police and Plymouth City Council as an Appropriate Adult.
  • Provided support to people during formal interview and case-related processes.
  • Delivered this work alongside university and early career commitments.

2015 to 2016 | NGO Work

Spent a year in Kenya working with an NGO in a different operational environment.

  • Worked for an NGO in Kenya for one year.
  • Gained practical experience in a different operational and social environment.
  • Strengthened people-focused communication and delivery skills.

2015 to Present | Zycore Industries

Started Zycore Industries in 2015, with RitaBot as a long-running core project.

  • Started Zycore Industries in 2015.
  • RitaBot ran as open source from 2015 to 2022 and grew from a few servers to 20k+ servers.
  • In 2022, the service moved from free access to a SaaS subscription model.
  • The core development team was five members, and I transitioned from core developer into the CFO role.

2016 to 2025 | EE/BT Employment

Joined EE/BT in frontline customer service and progressed through technical and operational roles.

  • Joined as a frontline customer service agent, then moved through technical support, broadband support, and back-office operations.
  • Managed and analyzed large volumes of operational, customer, and fault-related data in a high-volume KPI-driven environment.
  • Produced documentation, guidance, reporting, and evidence-based recommendations to support decisions and process improvements.
  • Supported implementation, testing, risk mitigation, and post-deployment reviews for operational changes.
  • Contributed across incident management, project development, training, and documentation functions.
